This is the Eccotemp water drain valve for the L5. The Eccotemp water drain valve makes for an easy way to drain your unit getting ride of any stagnant water that may still be inside. It should be unscrewed after each use if kept outside in freezing temperatures.

a very necessary piece for clearing the tubes of water, whether there are particulates caught, or if you are draining for winter. The o ring is impossible to find at a hardware store, which makes it necessary to buy the entire brass piece with o ring. Not overly expensive, but wasteful. Sell me an o ring or two for the drain plug. It's brass, should last forever.
Perfect replacement
After several years of use for my L5 washing horses, I somehow lost the drain plug. I was so glad to find the perfect replacement and received it quickly online at the Eccotemp website. Wish there were a way to tether that thing to the heater, though....

L5 drain plug
I bought the drain plug as a replacement for a broken plug on a L5 I own. I have 2 L5 water heaters at my cottage. They work very well but you have to thoroughly drain the unit before winter to avoid damage to the plug or other parts. A helpful addition to the parts list would be replacement O rings which fit around the end of the drain plug.
