I had my other one for several years and it was great! It's used in northern Minnesota and it got left out during a very sudden cold snap (sub zero) before I could properly drain it for the season and some of the coils burst. I was more than happy to replace it without even shopping for another brand or model. Nice hot shower after a day of playing at the cabin!

I recently purchased the L5 portable tankless water heater. The unit was received on the day promised. All the fittings were included as advertised. Connections were easy to do and the unit performed as described. Within seconds I had warm water coming out and soon it was hot. I was surprised as to how quiet the unit was.

This is second Ecotemp water heater I've had and it makes it easy for me to rinse off my show horses in cold weather. This second one I purchased has metal shower hose and is much stronger than robber coiled hose - would certainly recommend it for barn use !

The Eccotemp L5 is easy to set up and extremely economical--a 5-gallon tank of propane lasts for months. I had a few problems with the first one I bought and the company's support staff was pretty helpful, finally offering me a good deal on a replacement unit when we couldn't track down why my 2-year old unit was malfunctioning--but I am one of those people who is good at pushing products to their limits. I am reasonably sure that if I take good care of the new one, it will last a lot longer than two years.
If, like me, you are in a situation where you need hot water but don't have a bathroom and hot water heater, this unit will keep you and your dishes happily clean without a lot of fuss and bother. When I'm living indoors again, I will be checking out their household units for my house, which is currently under construction.

I was able to borrow one from a friend prior to purchase. I am very pleased with the amount of water flow and temperature. I purchased 2. One for my out door shower and one for my RV which would take 40 min to heat 10 gallons. Now I have unlimited hot water in 25 seconds. The pilot will blow out if the winds are high which is easily rectified. Very happy with the amount paid.

I just returned a similar item from Camp chef because it didn't work and got this. So far have used it three times and I love it, specially it works great without any pomp. I got a gas usage meter for my 20# tank so I will be able to replace the tank in time. I just wished there was a "battery low" indicator on the unit. Other than that it is a wonderful product.

I live on a boat and use this heater for all my hot water needs. It's very reliable with no problems on the salt water. They last me about three years with use several times a day. I keep it on the outside rail. If I kept it inside, it would probably last a little longer.
I added a "T" with a inline ball valve and hose bib on the output side of the unit. This allows me to better regulate the flow and temperature. The hose bib lets me attach a short hose to wash out the cockpit.
All in all it's an excellent unit that is very well priced.
